Hey guys, i'm just wondering.. i just installed a turbo kit and everything in my 95 talon.. now i installed the FMU (thanks to the search tool) and the fuel pump. now there were some problems with the fuel line when i was taking it off the pump.. the connector was seized and i crimped the line.. then broke it of course.. got a nice bruise from that... so to make a long story short.. i bought some aftermarket fittings and line and installed it.. but when i go to start my car.. it has a little hesitation when it is cranking over.. like usual.. it takes a couple turns.. then it starts.. but now.. it takes a few more.. it seems like the pressure is gone from the lines.. my car doesn't have the same kind of pick up like it use to.. even though there is a turbo involved.. i tried to to run the car without the intercooler piping connected to the intake.. and it was kinda sluggish... now i dont know if that has to do with the fact that i have so much more fuel going in my engine. and when i attach the intercooler.. it still is kinda sluggish.. but then i get some good pep!! i do know about turbo lag.. but this is some serious turbo lag if thats the case!! lol
if you could help.. that would be great! ( if i make any sense?? lol)

Your fuel pressure has nothing to do with the car turning the motor over. If the fuel pressure is the problem, then the motor have be harder start. You really need to get a FP gauge so you can see your pressure at idle and as boost hits.
A boost gauge will be able to tell you when your turbo is spooling.
Also a datalogger would be nice so you can see your front o2 sensor.

Yeah, well it's just when you do turn the motor over.. it just takes that much longer for it to start.. it was fine up until i installed the FMU and the fuel pump.
would it be the fact that i used the stock o ring and the stock weird cup thing that the pump outlet fits into?? if that seal was gone.. it would leak pressure into the tank right? therefore the built up pressure for the fuel wont push it into the fuel rail? and i do notice that when i get into my car in the mornings.. it smells like gas... ( and no.. it wasn't last nights taco's either! )
in theory, would you think that the pressure would leak out from the pump then out of the cover on the tank, into my car, and that would be why it would require that much more time to start because it need to rebuild the pressure?? and then with the demand when i floor it, it takes that much more for it to kick in?? or would that have anything to do with the FMU??
oh and i do have a boost guage.. i took it out for a rip last night to finally test this sucka out.. i forgot to put a clamp on the upper intercooler pipe, and with the boost it blew it off.. lol yeah.... i'm useless and am dying to finally reap the benifits for all this outpoor of cash!

We're not talking about a 4g63 here. Installing a 255 is perfectly fine. Plenty of people have run them with an otherwise stock setup in preparation for the final stages of their turbo installs without any problems (including myself)
To the OP you shouldn't be running any higher of a pressure under normal driving than stock because the fmu only raises pressure when it sees boost. Check all your fittings and lines again to make sure they're tight, double check you installed the fmu properly etc. Swap the fuel pump back out just do everything you can to narrow down where the problem specifically lies. THe two threads you found are a good start

Hey guys, yeah so what i think i did wrong in the whole setup so far is.. i never cut that bell shaped thing.. and ran just straight rubber hose over the outlet on the pump and the line.. and the other thing was, the seal on the pump cover.. it was not fully sealed.. i did both of those things.. and she starts up no problems.. and i dont get the hesitation that i was before.. infact, very much the opposite!!
other than all that, i am wanting to change the fuel line that comes from the top of the pump down to the metal line under the car, (rubber section). it is so seized and crappy.. i tried taking the whole rubber section of the fuel line from the pump to the metal line off, and it wont move... i ended up twisting the metal line at the bottome, so i twisted it back to prevent anymore damages and just left it.. and of course the upper section blew.. but i got a fitting that could bolt it back to the stock pump section, i'm going to go buy a fitting so that i can just cut that thing right off!! and put the new fittings on.. and run a whole new line, so if i ever sell the thing, then the next person wont have the cut up knuckles and frustration trying to get the thing off..
so with the fuel pressure guage, i'm going to pick one up here asap and see what kinda numbers it shows for pressure..
but yeah, the car is running awesome!! and my fiancee and i are still high from all the fumes while working on this!!
but i do want to thank you guys for all your help!!
