DUDE your put synthetic oil in a motor with only 30 miles?? Your not suppose to switch to full synthetic untill about 1500 miles. The synthetic oil doesn't allow the motor to create enough friction to wear in the parts. I would take that shit out ASAP.

It doesn't matter a whole lot. The Cadillac SLR uses full synthetic from break-in forward. It might just be seeping past the valve stem seals. Change to normal oil and run it a couple hundred miles.

I recommend you using Lucas Oil Stablizer also with the cheapy oil it helps.

Another bad thing about AdvanceAuto is that they only hire, people they know. Don't know jack, they give people wrong parts all the time.

Its better to write the part number down on paper yourself least you know you're getting the right part.

I know your pain.

Fuck auto parts stores. Advanced is forever ordering me the wrong shit. I bought a new thermostat and gasket, just waiting on a good day to refresh my coolant system. Watch it be the wrong f-ing part again.

Half the time, the dealership doesn't know shit either. I told them i needed 2.1 quarts of oil in my transmission and dude tried to argue with me saying i needed 2.5 and then they couldn't find the part number on the bottle to ring it up. I pointed to it. "that's not it"

"yes it is"

"no, i dont think it is"

Guy made a phonecall to figure out where the inventory cat was, pulled it up and sure enough, i was right.

A guy commented on my car and another's car who was in the shop. 3000gt with a primmer paintjob. He was like, "look at that. You dont want that. It looks like he spraypainted it."

I responed with "I spraypainted my car EXACTLY like that."

Then he tried to sell me an 08 eclipse convertible and said he'd accept a trade in on mine as a down payment.....

Dont believe everything you hear. Most of the "car" people i talk to are really, really dumb. Then again, i was the one who left a toolbox under the car yesterday after i got done putting lowering springs and shocks on wondering why in the hell i can still fit my fist between the fender and the tire. emoji

Goodnight sweetheart...yes its time to go...bum bum bum bum bum...good night sweetheart yes I am one little a$$hole......bum bum bum bum....

some smoke when its cold is normal as long as it goes away when it warms up. you could have bad valve stem seals possibly though ?

How hard are the valve stem seals to change?

its pretty easy if you have the proper tool. I use a big C-clamp style valve spring compressor. took 30 mins to change.

not really an Eclipse, but I do have an Eclipse center console, if that counts..

Doesn't matter about oil on break-in. From what I read, people don't advise using synthetic at first because you are just going to drain it out soon anyway so get as cheap of oil as you can to save money.
