this issue happens intermittently, where im driving then my car bucks and goes crazy rpms fly everywhere, and sometimes i get the "cam angle sensor" CEL, sometimes , no CEL at all...i check connection, try again, works for few days, then prob persists. i swap it with a good CAS, let it idle for 15 ins, drive round the block for 15 mis, no issues. so its possible the sensor was bad,(and no the wires aren't burnt from the EGR stuff)

ALso, when i thro it in neutral and coast, my idle fluctuates (in time with my AFR) from like 700~ 1200, and dosent stop fluctuation till i come to a complete stop, WTF?

Don't mean to highjack this thread, but it's relevant. I have a similar problem currently with my car. However, my idle fluctuates AFTER I make a complete stop and it'll bog down to around 700-900 and idle there, but when I coast it sits at 1200. Before it would go down to around 300 and then sit for a seconds and go back up to 900, but then my car wouldn't start at all. Found my CAS wires had been separated from the plug. It's possible your CAS may be going bad. Local parts stores should sell them for around $40. It's not completely gone, or you would not be able to start, but just like many other electronics, when they are going bad, they work/error intermittently. Replace the sensor and go from there. If that doesn't fix your troubles then I would look elsewhere.

to the OP, you might have a vehicle speed sensor going out. it keeps the motor around 1100 RPM when coasting ands not in gear. I'd also give the the new CAS a shot, and see how its holding up in a week.

** Current status: 9 bent valves. and it only had 6,000 miles on it. i hope the replacement goes well. **

Lots of expensive parts, and still slow! Oh wait, it has to run to go fast.

ok, when im cruisin on highway or around town, and i thro in Neutral, i get this idle sweep, it goes from like 700 to 1200, i can see the sweep on my RPM, as well as my wideband AFR, and vac gauge, it sweeps from -16in HG to like -21 or -22in hg, some times it happens all the way till i stop, some times only a few sweeps.. sometimes, not at all.. it dosnt matter if the engines warm or cold, its don it in both situations. could it be my EGR? i have it hooked to the Vac line that goes to my 60 mm TB, is it possible, that its "feeding" air back into the TB, causing the computer to react and shut and open the butterfly? or could it be my dam IAC...

every thing is clean, IE, the engine is a fresh build with only a a few K on it, and the IAC is clean...
CAS has NO burnt wires, and i dont get a cel, although i did get an "insufficient EGR flow " code the otherday..?

so could it be the way my EGR is running to the TB, or could my IAC just be crap?
