Took some quick pics b4 going to class the other day, of my rebuild and turbo install. Compression was good on 3 cylinders, and 90 on the 4th. My mechanic called me up friday to let me know i had a cracked piston emoji My original plan was just to change all the gaskets, oil pump, water pump all the belts and hoses and stuff, but since my pistons are fucked i just ended up ordering wiseco 8:8 pistons and eagle rods emoji .. How is everyone with SFMU liking it? im thinking of getting rid of my 12:1 and running 10psi daily with SFMU and tuning with my greddy emanage. Im open to any suggestions and comments as far as tuning and fuel and what your guys opinions are on that. its crappy cell phone pics...you can see how bad my axles were...the rear motor mount was all loose, and the front one was starting to crack, both axles were like that

since you have the engine opened i'd take the VC off shave the lettering and get it nicely powder coated to reflect the new performance your gonna have. always good for a WOW factor

if you have seen mine, i painted it w/ 1200* ceremac, ford red and used the dremel to polish the letters. looks great, and cost like 5$.

** Current status: 9 bent valves. and it only had 6,000 miles on it. i hope the replacement goes well. **

Lots of expensive parts, and still slow! Oh wait, it has to run to go fast.

Looks good so far man. Keep up the good work.

Now on your fuel, I would not recommend going with the SFMU. Thats an expensive piece and you would be much better off running a 1:1 FPR and MS. I am running the SFMU /emanage right now and I got a perfect tune on the car right now. But since you got a built motor you will need spark control.

I would just go ahead and take the dive into MS and save yourself the hassel of messing around with stuff that wont be as good. Sell the emanage and put that money toward MS.

I wouldn't run 10psi on a daily driven stock bottom end. I don't remember what fmu to run(either 8:1 or 12:1) but the fmu and stock injectors will hold you till about 7 or 8 psi. The sfmu is good for people just starting out to tune, but just like it was stated above, they are a bit pricey. There is always the HRC portfueler, Megasquirt, and DIY 8 injector setup. All of which have there advantages and disadvantages. My advice would be to search on here all of the fuel system options above and then make your decision. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info!! i am doing my research and trying to see which system will be best for me, but im wondering if my BuilT Bottom end will run fine with just the 12:1 fmu and stock injectors in the time being with just a .5 bar wastegate spring? i know the stock compression 9:5:1 or w/e it is runs fine just on the rich side with that setup, but will 8:5:1 compression run the same way?? i just need it too run in the time being so i can drive around until i get bigger injectors and figure out tuning

Am I missing something, I mean I am sick as a dog over here with the flu and kidney stones...highly medicated and such...

So please if it's a stupid mistake don't flame me to hard..

Hes a ricer.....

Nah, he is probably in the process of turboing it and just didn't have the turbo mounted in the pic.

To answer the question. Having a built bottom end will not effect running the motor with a 12:1 FMU.
