Just curious there a shop to houses down from and they carry JAsper remanufacter 420a motor and the our 4spd auto w/ overdrive.

I went to their site www.jasperengines.com watched the video for both. Looks good but the engine is over priced 3,300 plus 190 core.

But the transmission has a decent price 1900 plus 800 core.

Has anyone bought from them pros and cons about them also.

They located in IN if this helps

Um haven't been in the reman business for many a year but from what I knew about them (and this is just my opinion) RUN!!!

Do not pass go do not collect $200.

Don't worry if you get a bad one, they will replace it (after making you sweat about checking it out) and then when, er if, that one breaks, they will replace that one.

Over 3.3k is quite pricey.

Now my disclaimer is that I haven't actually dealt with them and 420a's AND this is just my opinion (did I say that already?).

The bottom line is if you are here...why on Earth would you spend 3300 dollars on an engine that you should know by now you could rebuild thanks to the information available on this site for a much cheaper price? It's your right as a member here to seek/search out the information available here to get whatever job required done.

I wouldn't give them the time, or money.

I agree. For that price, you could build a pretty sick motor. Think about it, they are asking you for $5,500 just to get a stock angine and tranny...you could build an engine AND do a 5-spd swap for that or less. I think everyone is gonna steer you away. There is so much more that you can do for the money. Just my 2-cents.

I live in Jasper Indiana and know quite a few people that work at Jasper Engines. DON'T buy one!! Some of the things I've heard from people that work there make me wonder how the place can still be in business!

Thanks but I'm going and especially from this shop next door to me.
I was abit concern, my step father is getting his 00 ranger atx trans replaced due to a busted torque convertor shaft. This happend because he had to pull his motor just to replace the oil pan gasket, and he noticed the shaft on the torque convertor was busted. This shop charged him 1,500- 2,000 for a New atx trans. I gues he didn't to buy a new and a rebuild kit and do the job himself.

I had to get my valve cover gasket replaced, I couldn't do it my self becuase of bolts where in bad shape. I know owner's brother they both same shop with same name. I used to work for him during the summer awhile back.

His rates is 50 an hr not bad and his shope the cleanset looks like SATAN's service deptartment.

thanks again

That's just stupid.

Sorry.

I had to say it.

WASTE OF MONEY.

I would have sold my car and bought a gsx long before ever paying that amount on a 140hp engine and a stock tranny.

Goodnight sweetheart...yes its time to go...bum bum bum bum bum...good night sweetheart yes I am one little a$$hole......bum bum bum bum....
