#107364, "EGR "not ready" made me fail smog.."

Ok, so i live in cali (soon to be rectified) and im getting my beast smogged. HRC stag 4/5 and so on.. The EGR is blocked, and i really haven't ever gotten the "code 32" from it. but when getting it smogged and the computer check thru obdII, it said my EGR system was not ready? wtf, how do i fix that WITHOUT putting it on? i have the space ship thing still electrically plugged in, so can i do the resistor mod (100Kohm 10W) to make my system ready? or does it need to see air or sum thing? if thas the case, couldn't i just hoot the 2 space ship hose barbs to the vac with a check filter so it dosent see boost??

everything else passed..barely lol..

The EGR ready status will not change untill you install the EGR. there is no work around for that.

crap, can i hook the Sapce ship to a vac port? so it sees some flow?
I also have an EVAP not ready and an O2 heater not ready, i dont think i messed with thte EVAP, theres still a vac line to the manifold from the canister, and the rest of the sys (charcoal box and vac lines) are still hooked up, i reset the ecu, and drove ~20~30 miles, should my evap sys do a test b4 then? of whould i fill up, get some GTP, and drive more? as for the o2 heater , idk wtf? needs more driving as well? basicly i need 1 of these 3 "not ready" systems to be ready, lol. Also will an auto zone scan machine be able to tell me if a sys is ready or not? tia

I cant read your post with how bad the spelling and crap is but the point is, you going to have to put all the equipment back in and drive it for a few days. there is NO WORK AROUND.

iv had the same problem for a while . Mine says evap, egr and o2 sensor not ready . i have tried putting the egr back even got a new one . i also got a brand new dealer o2 sensor which works absolutly fine but when i go get inspection it still says not ready and will not pass . I also drive the car all the time so it should be ready . So far i been driving without a inspection for over a year and recently my registration expired which i cant renew because i have no inspection . Inspection laws suck big donkey balls expecially since if my car was a 95 instead of a 99 they can pass me without even looking at it . If anybody can help with this problem you would make me a happy man.

Would swapping out your 95 ecu for the 97-99 ecu fix your inspection problems.

I've heard about that are two types of emission ecu types Ones a federal emission model years 95-96 Eclipse/talon and the other is California emission for model years 97-99 eclipse/Talon

The federal are cars that are built on the east coast?? and Will pass not pass inspection. California are built on the west coast and might pass the inspection.

Mostly likely I'm wrong but a close friend of mine is taking his ASE an mentioned this to me. when I bought an ecu for my mother neon, plus I also heard that the 1999 ecu's for cars are better than the early years.

Is this correct?? Sir's

yes but i do have a 99 ecu in my 99 car . If i had a 95 ecu then that would probably be the problem . i have tried a ecu from a 98 and had the same problem . I got to say the harshest inspection laws are definitly new york where i live and cali .
