Went to visit the girlfriend while she was at school (around 400 km drive one way) The drive goes fine until about half an hour before we arrive, the car was missing/stumbling. It wasn't extremely bad so i drove the rest of the way. Next couple of days the car acts fine. On the way back there was an exetreme weather warning and everyone was supposed to stay off the roads. Well I had to go home regardless. The way back the car acted fine, so i figured it was a one time deal. Well went over to see her again and the car really started to miss/stumble. I keep driving (while keeping an eye on my gauges) and tried to find what provoked it. If I kept the car around 3k rpm and tried to keep a constant speed it would act up. If it was below 3k rpm and a constant speed it was fine. If I sped up or slowed down around 3k rpm it was fine. The first trip over car was stock other than intake pipe, fart can and rear o2 delete. Second trip car was turbo'ed. No CEL either. I'm thinking engine bay is getting to hot, since it didn't happen durring the blizzard on the way back which was a longer drive then the way there, or maybe a tps.

it's only happening on the way TO your girlfriends house, so I'd guess your car doesn't like her

Her house is only like a 30 minute drive from my house, but now she's in school, which is like a 4 hour drive. Heading back home tonight. We'll see if it acts up again.

O2 sensor, clogged cat, or maybe a coolant temp sensor problem.

Cats, fine checked it like a weekago, looks brand new. I'll check the o2 sensor when i get a chance to go to my friends shop. Any way to check the temp sensor?

I'm with justins71, I think that the car is showing it's anger towards your gf when your on your way there, but it's happy again when you leave, and doesn't have a reason to act up.

My car's never shown any anger to here before. And they haven't had any fights recently. And she was with me last time i went over, and when i came back. However there were no problems on the way back, got over 450kms on the top half of the tank, with a fair amount of boosting. We did stop to get something to eat though.
