Does anyone know the part number for the support rail for the bottom groove on .040 je pistons? I would like the rails from a company other then JE (hasting, ect.)

Are your talking about the oil control rings (the three piece rings for the lower groove on the pistons)?
If so, I did a quick Google and found the JE part # is 242871 for .040. That's for the whole set. I couldn't find a .040 over set of Hastings. But it looks like the JE uses a 3.0mm groove for the oil control ring and 1.2mm grooves for the other two rings. So, you should be able to search for a piston ring set with those parameters.
But, I'm a serious newb when it comes to the 420a and you should seriously wait until a senior member of this board verifies that info.

If you mean the support rail for a set of long-rod pistons, you have to buy them from JE.
If you mean some other brand ring set, try howell automotive.
