Hey guys, awhile back i changed my timing belt and after that i started it up, it idled funny. My dad did hit a hot side on the alternator and i dont know if that fried anything or what. We thought it might the the idle air control motor so we tested it according to the ohm resistance ratings in the manual. Cant remember what the min number was, but the max was 52 (engine was cold, i'm assuming it would go up when it gets hot) it was about 52.7 or so on both sets of pins which is a little over. So we got a few from a junk yard and the all ran the same tests, all over the max resistance. So we tried them anyway, 3 bucks is worth a possible solution. Some of them wouldnt idle at all. It would start and die. So i'm living on my original now with a loping idle. Not too bad, just sounds like cams. Any ideas? Thanks
thats another strange thing. when we took the timing belt off, the marks were off a little. So we set it right exactly to the manual specs. It turns out that the damn timing belt didnt even need to be changed! what a waste of a day and a pain in the ass. I should've also mentioned in the first post that when i start it up, it idles fine for about 30 seconds then you hear a click and it starts loping
