That doesn't really explain anything. What's wrong with it?

Last we heard, he had codes for FO2S failure. (forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=4&topic_id=92187&mesg_id=92187&listing_type=search) He *is* boosted, but that's about all I can tell.

But if we rebuild it, we need to make the engine be able to withstand a turbo..

thats why im thinking of getting th 4g63t engine..

but idk.
suggestions?

or anything else? idk im kinda lost and so is my dad cause of him being a muscle car person and im imports lol

on OHC engines, that's pretty rare. Somehow I doubt it.

You need to do some reading, man. Nobody here is just going to sit by the computer and wait for you to ask all the same old questions that have been answered a hundred times just because you don't want to do your homework. Sorry. Not how it goes.

It's a bit odd, though. Your car is telling you, specifically, that your $100 front O2 sensor is a problem, but you're ignoring that to suspect that a cam might be cracked (which pretty much never happens), considering swapping some different engine into the car, and now a full rebuild with parts from Howell.

Why not just clean the battery terminals real good and try replacing the front O2 sensor and going from there? emoji

EDIT:
It's like me saying my brakes squeak, so I suspect I've broken a disc in half, I'd wonder if I shouldn't install the brakes from a Porsche 959 or maybe order something Howell will say is in-stock at the time of my order, then take three months to deliver, all the while telling *me* what a shitty customer I am.

cracked cam? not fucking likely, you don't have a central cam OHV V8, those crack. listen to DR1665, use the search, replace the O2 sensor and get it back on it's feet.

How do you know you have a cracked ring? Is the engine already apart? Are you spitting oil out the exhaust? I know you want to rebuild for turbo and that's cool but if you rebuild the engine and leave the toasted O2 sensor, what do you have? A forged lawn orniment that is ready for turbo. Fix what's wrong first then worry about improving it. Judging by the posts I have seen you need to read till your eyes bleed before you even think about turboing that thing.
P.S. As I noted in my first post there are a few motors avail in our for sale section, and some of them are built.. Much faster / easier than rebuilding yourself...

EDIT: I almost forgot bro if you are going to swap something in do the viper engine or a v-12 desiel from a ram pickup, Much cooler than the 4g63T swap...

Looks like he already boosted his car...oh well. If you are building for a turbo, then why do pics of your car in your other have a turbo? You been boosting on stock internals? How many pounds of boost you been running? Please tell me less than 8....

My question is...your positive battery cable is mysteriously disconnected and then all the sudden you cracked your camshaft? Unless you are running over 8psi on your stock internals, how the hell is that going to happen (unless whoever put it together last didn't tighten down the bolts)...you aren't making enough power to come close to cracking it! Especially on low boost. And if the shop took apart your engine and found you have a cracked ring (which like Kirby said...you'd probably have oil coming out around your tailpipe, or even out of your manifold.....) then how come they didn't find anything else? Surely if they found a cracked ring, they would have spotted a cracked cam...
