Ok so I have a small problem with my new motor. I almost have 3000 miles on my new motor and has been running fairly good. Well I got home today and noticed that i could smell antifreeze so I shut the car
off and opened the hood and needless to say there is was burning off my engine. So I checked the lines up front and nothing so I looked over the top of the motor and it was everwhere on the back of the block and on top of the valve cover. I looked like it blew toward the fire wall but not really sure since I only look at it for two seconds since I had to go to work. When I turned the car off it wasn't overheating so that is a plus at this time. But I am wondering if someone could tell me where in gods name is there a coolant access point on the back of the block? I thought all of the hoses were infront and not on the back. Thanks for any help.

Heater hoses. follow from the water neck around to the firewall. Check for cracked rubber hoses or one of the hoses might have popped off at the firewall. How big of a puddle or drip is there?

Well there was a lot of dripping. I would say that the spot was almost 3 feet wide if not a little wider. So I mean something blew up or is shooting out from what I can tell. Are these hoses on the bottom of the car or top? Meaning can I mess with them easier if I was under the car or hoovering over it?

Not sure if this helps but I believe the block drain plug is back that way as well. I don't think this would be the cause of your leak but it may be worth a look.

ditto. they're kinda a pain to get to behind the intake manifold.

Hmm, this happened to me before my HG went. But mine ended up being the small lenght of hose that runs right next to the T-stat. It was weird because at idle there was no leak, only when in high revs (I could tell by the fumes). So I popped the hood, and opened the TB by hand... the jet of Antifreeze just missed my left ear. It was like some one had stuck a needle in it, a really fine jet shot out.

Seems like you have it located though, so hopefully its not the case.
