Hey guys,

I have been looking for a motor to rebuild for more boost. I found one I could probably get for nothing, but it is hydrolocked. If I plan on rebuilding anyways, is it worth it?

If it's free, give it a shot. Take it apart, drop it off at the machine shop and have them inspect it. If they think it'll take to a twenty over and isn't cracked or shit like that, you've just scored a free bottom end, boss.

I would be more concerned about the condition of the cylinder walls seeing that if it had water in it and it sat it could be rusted pretty bad. Ive seen some engines with hydro lock that couldnt even be bored out because the rust was so deep withing the sleeves. I would disassemble it completly and have a machinest check it over.
