My check engine light recently came on. I had it read at the local autozone to find out that it was an Evaporative Emissions Control System leak (LARGE).
Now, provided that all the hoses are connect properly, what would be your first guess as to what compenent could cause this problem?
Thanks for the help!

My guess would be...if you can get away with it in your state....get use to CEL being on. I've been chasing a (gross) leak for about 4 years now just when I think I found it and clear the code and the car sits for a few days...it comes back.

here at the dealer I work at we use nitrogen to find out where the leak is. requires a big tank of the stuff and special adapters to connect it to all the points to be pressurized.
if you really want it off, expect to take it to satan or another good shop and pay a few hours of diag just to find the problem. if the car is running fine and you're lucky enough to live in a non emission controlled area, ignore it

I don't have to worry about getting her smogged. IT is just a little imbarrassing to have that light on. Here I am, braggin about what have done to her, turbo and all... Then we go for a ride... as they look over they see the big glaring CEL looking at them.. just looks a little raggady if you know what I mean.
Thanks for the help though.

+1 I live with the CEL, mostly cause I'm too lazy to do the resistor mod to the EGR blockoff sometimes it goes off, but I just do the keydance every couple days to make sure nothing's changed
well at least when it's running

I have had mine on for a couple months now, you get used to it.
If it bothers you that much, take out the bulb like what was said before.
