#106343, "Troubleshooting New Engine"

No the engine is not "New" but it is new to the car. I hydro-locked my old one and went to a junkyard and bought a used one. I dropped the engine into the car hooked everything up, all sensors and wires, all vacuum lines, that i know of.
Here's my problem: When I start the car, it starts fine without any problems, but then it immediately starts accelerating (neutral) and I have to shut it off before it gets too high. I checked the throttle cable and also made sure it is hitting the "stopper" on the throttle body. I've also tried disconnecting the vacuum lines in case of any sort of leak, after disconnecting the lines I plugged all of the spots where there had been a vacuum line attached.
Also the fuel rail seems to be for a different year because my old fuel rail for my 1998 motor did not have a "fuel return line". I've plugged the line where the line is supposed to go for that so I don't have gas everywhere. I've also ran the a longer line that was not plugged into a small gastank to see if unplugging it stopped the uneccassary acceleration.
Any one who has an idea that might work or at least shed more light on the current situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

first off, switch back to your old fuel rail. you must have a 95 motor that uses the return style fuel system.

as far as the revving, it's probably a vacuum leak, or a bad idle control solenoid

Also, make sure you have the plugs in the back of the throttle body plugged in. If not it will do just what you're describing. Ask me how I know this one.
