whenever i start from a stop, if i press on the gas too much, it will jerk and i hear something pop. And on top of that i dont get the full power if i press it all the way. does anyone know what is wrong with my car?

You aren't going to get many more if any more responses to this thread without more information. You might want to state whether you have a manual or an automatic. Then you should clarify when this started happening. Also, what do you mean you do not get full power at full throttle? Where is this pop coming from?

Without more information, I'd suspect the infamous spark plug wire failure. Search for "plug wires" by subject and see if that doesn't help you out. This is very common and less than $50 to fix at Autozone if it's plug wires.
