Ha. Urethane motor mounts, pfft.

Anyone running an engine torque damper like what the honda/acura guys are running? If so, post pics. I can't seem to find a starting point for the future side project. It seems one (or two!) of these teamed up with window welded mounts would help loads with getting power down without splurging on new bushings outright.

Next year, i'll be in the market for a FULL ENGINE BUILD. Slowboy racing has a damn good deal on their stage III head. I emailed them for shots of their portwork months ago but i still haven't gotten anything. Where can i find pics of their work up close?

NM.

Mod delete please.

I found an srt4 damper that will work with a little modification.

I got an email from a myspace friend of some slowboy portwork.

All's well and noted.

That was $1500 w/o core.... Haven't been on their site in some time so i missed $300. Honest mistake.

well for all the extras that come with the head (valves, guides, springs, retainers) i guess 1500.00 could be justified.

Damn right.

I've seen similar heads go for other 4 bangers for $500 more....without cams!

I have a loose deadline for the motor which is why i'll be buying this head outright and slapping some nasty cams on the mother.

Beast!

This car isn't going to be my dd for much longer, btw so i should start getting stuff done. Some of it is a secret. emoji

Have you checked out concept illusion?

They have a stage 4 with just about the same thing for I think $1,100. Plus they come with 1mm oversized valves.

Just some food for thought.

Ya bro,

conceptillusions.com
cimotorsports.net

Same website, 2 different addresses.

They have very competitive pricing. Lots of aftermarket parts for the 420a and 4g63. Shipping is great. I've heard a few bad stories but it seems like their customer service is top notch ready to help fix problems.

Do a search on here first for Concept Illusions. Then make your decision. You mentioned a deadline. Just a heads up.

Depending on your schedule, I might be able to hook you up. I dropped more than $2000 into my head a couple years ago. All the bells and whistles, but I'm probably going to be selling it in the next couple months. More than likely in the $1100-$1300 range. Details can be found on my website, dr1665.com if you're curious.

Well, i finally got around to checking CI motorsports.....

That name sounds familiar. Never heard of concept illusions and was too stupid to realize CI was the same company.

Their stage 4 head is a little much (performance wise) so i think i'll go with their stage 3. That's a pretty good deal. Thanks for the suggestion since i'm keeping the 2gnt a budget-minded but very unique street car. The only reason i have a deadline is so i have to finish the car (mechanically) next year AND start working on my drifting project. I'm knuckling down on myself but not so hard i'm stressing out about things. I can't have two full-on project cars, go back to school and work at the same time.

Ci motorsports prices works around budget DSM owners also checkout partsdinosaur.com and MACH V.com also Make sure you either call or email to see if they have want you want in stock on hand.

Cool your going drifting whats car 180sx 240 S13 S14 or S15. Whats the scoop. Or is your Drift project is an GSX this would be sweet 1st DSM, stock up on your axles.

I love parts dinosaur. Seriously. They've been a huge help as far as me getting rebuild parts for my car. I'm still not done yet. I'm just driving it now and haven't worked on the car in some time. Well, that's a lie, i did wire up a switch to my reverse lights, mount my six disk changer on the plastic panel behind my driver seat and gut the hatch out. I'm wanting to relocate my power window switches to a console in the floor or something so i can lose those panels too. Shedding weight. Lol. Pointless, maybe but it gives me something to do and i still dont have the buick fixed to drive around to go into the motor of the 2g yet.

I'd love to run a beefed up transfer case, diff, and axles in a gsx but that's just far too expensive. I thought long and hard about it already. I either want a 180, FC, SC300 (hard to find for under $4k), or even an older corolla. The Soarer would only need bolt ons and some suspension work to make a great drift car. Steering angle kit, short shifter and studderbox for sure on whichever car i pick. The KA24de would be great but most 180's i'm finding are engineless or blown and the sellers want way too much for them. Corollas are a bitch to find close enough. So right now, i'm probably opting for an FC coupe with a jdm turbo II swap, SS manifold, ball bearing 50 trim turbo, 3" catback and heavy suspension mods with an exedy stage I clutchpack. It's a drift car, i'm not looking to make it pretty.....just sideways. Building a good, cheap drift car is easy. Doing what i want to do with the 2g = biggest project i'll probably ever take on. Writing my life story is going to be damn close to that.

Goodnight sweetheart...yes its time to go...bum bum bum bum bum...good night sweetheart yes I am one little a$$hole......bum bum bum bum....
