hey just wondering if you need to mod anything when using MLS headgaskets..? like new studs, or it works just like a stock HG.

The stock HG is a MLS gasket

I personaly like the stock because its a 4 layer now. They cost about the same and are both good. I would just go with oem, I haven't had any problems with it.

Check your headbolts if you plan to re-use them. If they are streched you NEED to get new ones. If they havn't been streched its ok to re-use them. Lets face it though, OEM replacements are always a safe bet in this catagory.

I would go arp studs, if you were going to get some good ones. If money is tight I would try and find the change to get some new oem ones. They are torque to yield so you are not susposed to reuse them, some people do and get away with it but why take the chance unless you REALLY have to.

Yeah. Get new headbolts.

Lube the threads with clean motor oil before you drop em in. Cross-threading a block isn't fun.

Just make sure your head and block are clean from any debris. Its always a good idea to take a straight edge on the head to check for warps before putting it back on also. New OEM TTY bolts are a must, I would never ever reuse the old ones even if they dont appear to be stretched. ARP studs are a good idea if your running a 95 or early 96 block as these were the ones that had the nororious corner bolt which bottomed out and didnt provide the correct torque on the head. Other then that its pretty straight forward to install the new gasket...
