ok just got a quick question,i need to get a new 420a motor and wanted to get a motor that had a automatic tranny on it originaly, cause my theory is a automatic probly had less abuse but i got a manuel tranny so my question is will a maual tranny bolt straite up to the engine that had a auto tranny originaly?are the bolt patterns identical?just want to be sure thx.

It will bolt up, but there are a lot of parts that you will need to complete the conversion. If you search around chamuko did a nice writeup on how to do the swap. I haven't yet done my writeup as I have been pretty lazy lately.

freelance, I think he wants an engine out of an ATX car, not to do manual to auto swap.

engine is the same, swap away.

Don't let the idea that an auto car will have had less wear and tear fool you, auto drivers are just as hard on their engines as manual drivers, and in my experience a good portion of automatic drivers are more likely to neglect their cars than manual drivers.
