I just got this eclipse GS / 420A Motor in it... has 90k miles

Here is what I did so far:

1. New Air Filter (K&N w/ Iceman Plastic Cold Air intake pipe, Filter In bumper)
2. Oil Change (Castrol Syntetic 10w30 w/ K&N Filter)
3. New Fuel Filter
4. New Plugs (NGK)
5. New Wires
6. O2 sensors
7. Headder
8. Full Exhaust (3inch w/ 2 Muflers, Made it Dual Exhaust)
9. New Idle control Valve (under TPS)

Here is the Problems Im having:
1. Low Idle (looks like 500RPM, its half way between 0 and 1 on stock Guage)
2. I have a vac guage and its 20in of vac idle but it constantly jumps +/- 1 to 2 in of vac (jumps faster if i rev it) as between 19 to 21 in vac constantly at idle (I was told Timing Belt) Not changed yet

Now when I tried to raise the RPM i changed the airgap in the TB (and I have no Idea where it was (my TPS states 0.750v) is this right?
I did this because Where I just got the car the Idle was jumping from almost stall to about 1200 rpm due to Incorrect temp guage instalation. that was fixed but I changed the airgap before trying to figure out why it was doing it... This is my stupid mistake...

Here are my Compression test results:
1. 230psi
2. 220psi
3. 235psi
4. 225psi

If anyone can help me out I will be very appriciated.
What does the TPS should be set? (it coresponds with the airgap because the tps is not adjustable)???
Why does my In vac jumps up and down and jumps faster as the rpm are raised???

If I cant get the Airgap set correctly, is this TB good?
http://www.modernperformance.com/dcx/eclipse_60mm_mpxtb.shtml

What do you think of the condition of this engine and any advice you may have to make it better...

Also, I just did a comp test and it came up with a EVAP (small leak)
Where should I start testing. I already did the basic tests to see if the 2 selinoids work and they do... If I will not get it working I will just get all new EVAP parts including the canister.

Please feel free to ask questions and some more tests that you think are needed to figure out and fix the isues...

Thank you all again,
Roman

I just checked all the Evap Wireing. All are good.

So that leaves me with Vac/Evap lines and the Selinoids them selves.
Will also check the tank, when I use up almost all the Fuel in it...

I want to change the Fuel Pump.
Please let me know If I need to do anything after I change the Pump. and what Pump do you all recommend?

I plan on Turboing the car after I correct all the minor problems.

I have ordered a new Wire harness from the dealer for $750. because most of the wires are cut and then crimped, and some of the wires have been striped. I'm not to happy about that, so I just got a new harness.

Also, I found 1 sensor not connected to the wireing, It looks like someone just grabed the wire and pulled it, till it broke off from the connector... (Its from the Oil Pressure Switch)
Thats what pissed me off, and I got the New Harness. Just to much to fix, looked like someone was wireing the car in the DARK...

get a walbro 190, check all the vacuum lines, the one on top the of the throttle body is for the EVAP, and likes to crack over time.

Thank you...

Most of the vac lines have been replaces... the Evap line on the top of the motor that connects to the TB has also been replaced.

CEL still gives me the small leak. Its bugging me already.

By OnDemand5 it looks like my Compression should be between 170 to 230psi. So I'm guessing the motor is in very good shape due to the psi readings im getting...

I''m going to the dealer to get the rest of the evap system components. I will just change everything and see where that leads me...

Most important: Does anyone know how to set the airgap on the TB??? I regret moving the Bolt already... if not I will just get that 60mm TB.

BTW: I want to restore this to as close to NEW as I can... Also I already changed all the bushings under the car and in the engine compartment... to energy suspention and stock bushings that energy suspention did not have. Brakes have been done.

Now all thats left is the EVAP, NEW motor and Rebuild the trany to make it withstand more power... Turbo Kit on the way also...

When its finished, I will enjoy every minute of it... lol

Oh, Do you happen to have the part# to the Walbro Fuel Pump???

I'm still up for another 13 days, AFAIK. When I move jobs, that site will go down until I can host it all somewhere else.

Minor vacuum changes are normal and should be expected. if they do not affect idle quality or drivability, you're chasing your tail.

Close the TB completely if you're on stock cams. That is the factory position. The vacuum changes you see are the idle air motor doing it's job.

Hello all, I have gotten some more info and an Updated version of CAPS...

The version I found is v3.41 and The version that I got from here is 2.66...

I will add all the Files I have to my server sometime tonight.
http://www.wolvorine4424.com/2gnt/

I found the location of the problem that errors out with EVAP small leak... Its in the Fuel Tank area... when I removed the cover for the fuelpump from inside the car I was able to smell GAS...
The car was off for a while so it cant be exhaust.

Now for the fun part. I have to drop the Tank and see whats leaking it.

Up till now, I still cant get the car to Idle right... Idle is a bit LOW sometiles and high other times.

Anyone with a STOCK 420A Eclipse. Please tell me what the TPS OUTPUT voltage is on your car...

All you need to do: it will only take 5 min of your time.
Just Turn the Ingition Key to ON and mesure the voltage from the center wire on the TPS and Ground. Do this without starting the car...

I really messed up the airgap or something on the TB... Why in the hell did i turn that screw...

There is noone in my area with a 420A stock car... everyone changed their intake manifolds so the readings are not the same... I tried.

PLEASE...

My friend just got the same Car (Same year and motor) What are the chances of this one???

I checked his Voltage. it's .535v...

Now, I'm bigining to suspect that I do not have the correct TPS installed in my car...

I took my TPS and installed it in HIS car and it came up with the same .75v. and when I install his back i get the .535v...

I guess This solves my Problem. I have a TPS from some other car (Probebly a Junkyard Product)

*Runs to the Store*

EDIT:
Installed a new one (They look the same) but the Voltage is way different...
I got my .535v That I wanted...

Problems FIXED...
Thanks ALL...

Anybody suspect the IAC? After all you can not just go to the store purchase a new one and drop it in without calibrating it with the DRB.

Callibrating it???
Whats a DRB?

The problems seem to be fixed... Please be more specific about the calibrating? I never knew it needs to be done.

P.S. I have already changed all the sensors...
AIC, TPS, Colant temp sensors (both of them), some EVAP components, plus a lot of other mods...
