I recently changed the oil pressure sending unit because it was leaking, well now its not leaking but my oil light will come on and stay on after about a minute of running. the car has plenty of oil and i don't have a oil pressure gauge... before i changed the unit my light popped on and off twice in the past month, which i assumed because of the sending unit. I am just looking for advice...
oh yeah and there are no appearent drivability problems, drives smooth, idles smooth, no knocking, never really had any problems except the pressure sensor, which was replaced and even though that was leaking it never went dangerously low

If the wiring to the sender gets grounded the light goes on. That probably is not your problem.
With the light blinking a little on your old sensor and a little more on your new one you are likely just seeing the slight differences between two measuring devices and you probably do have low oil pressure.
Is the light flickering at idle when the motor is good and hot? Will the light go off when you idle up the motor a little bit?
Only an accurate gauge installed temporarily will give you the answer at this point (if you don't see a wiring problem).
alright, so i just went out and disconnected the sensor and started the car w/o it connected. the oil light is doing the same thing with or without the sensor connected. would you think faulty sensor?? i need to just invest in the gauge, which i was hoping to hold off until next friday (payday) so i can get the whole 3 gauge pillar. on a side note how do you put pictures in the end of your responses??
oh yeah and its not slight differences between the old one and new one its like night and day, with the old one i only saw the light twice, ever... this new one its everytime i start the car, it just takes a minute to come on like when i started it with the sensor disconnected...
well if it is a new sending unit, and its installed properly you will probably want to get a oil pressure gauge to make sure nothing is going wrong with your engine
