Ok started about 2 months ago and I just haven't had time to dive too deep into it yet but have a 3 day weekend and would like to figure out whats wrong. I've got a 97 RS with stage 2 star kit on it.

When I first noticed it I was driving to my dads from my apt and it seemed to studder and hesitate while I was driving. I got it to my dads and parked it. The next day tried to take a look at it and started it up and it imediately died. I took off my TB as i'd had this problem before and reset the IAC motor. Put it back in and it would start up but still ran like shit. It idles rough and hesitates under light load but seems ok under boost EXCEPT when the wastegate opens when I hit full boost then it bucks and hesitates like a sonofabitch. I had a CEL so took it to autozone to run the codes and it showed something about a possible vac leak, IAC motor, or change in map sensor pressure. Driving normal was working ok for a few days then it started not wanting to stay running after starting her up she'd die like before especially if the car was on an incline it seemed to do it more often. So I quit driving it. I have a spare IAC motor so I put my spare in and it does the same thing. Next I tried the map sensor since i also had a spare one so i replaced it and still running the same. I dont believe it to be a vac leak as I've checked most of the lines. Any ideas? Could it be the FCD that was supplied with the star kit quit working? If you guys think thats it do they still sell the missing link and if so does anyone have a link to it? If you think it could be something else let me know your input as it will be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Timing belt/water pump/clutch were all recently replaced just an fyi.

This might be a shot in the dark but it might be the coolant temperature sensor. My car was running crappy and i changed all of the obvious things and nothing fixed it until i changed that sensor. Just a suggestion for you.

first of all let me say your car looks dead sexy!

What kind of FCD are you using? It might possibly be blocked? causing MAP read out problems, as for the IAC valve, you probably just need a new one, now then you will prolly want to check all your vac lines off the waste gate, make sure there isn't a leak, good luck man, im serious that car looks awesome.

Sounds to me like the map is seeing positive pressure and freaking out. However, this doesn't explain the idle issues.. unless you broke the thing completely. Did you get any CPS codes as well?
