#104670, "A jeep question"

ok question my housemate has a 99 jeep cherokee and it is giving him some problems when he was driving it the alternator gauge was peeking all the way to 19 max. It did this a few times over the last week and a half we replaced his battery right away, and last night after running some errands. It was dead wouldnt start just a click. It was doing weird things no lights, then they came on. No door chime then it worked. then only his ebrake light worked kinda vague sorry ill try to get more info from him could it be a ground/wire harness?

I thought alternator but dont they just die. or can they peak like that killing 2 different batteries.

Sounds like a loose ground and/or a bad voltage regulator.
