Ok, I have a few questions on compression. From what i have heard, when raising the compression higher, it's more likely to have a chance of denotation. So how can this stroker kit run 12.5 compression ratio and not denotate? I really don't know much about this stuff, the technical side anyway, so anyone shed some light? Also, wouldn't adding a turbo to this kit, increase the chance of denotation? From what i can gather, the kit will give a good increase in low end torque. So now would we be limited to how much boost pressure we can put on the motor with the kit in? I'm thinking that you can't have the 12.5 compression and run over what, 8 psi? I eventually want to have a project car, and have that stage V setup, but i am getting a stage 1 by the spring time(hopefully). So how bout some info!!

ok from what i understand and have picked up so far... if you want to turbo, turbo it now... then when you need to rebuild the engine then use the stroker kit to not only rebuild but to gain more low end torque, or for some that want more of an N/A setup then use this kit and 10.5 or 12.5 copression.. and you can still boost on the 10.5, but im guessing that boost on 12.5 will be too risky for detanation issues.. with the high compression yes you risk detonation and will have to use colder plugs and 93+ octane gas, but this stroker kit is a real sweet addition to our engine period.. me.. i would like a more peppier off the line setup and will still eventually boost, but its all in how you want to set it up i guess and where you want to go with your car... if you want to run high boost you will not want a high compression setup, but rather the opposite and that means 8.5 our stock compression is 10.3 btw neways.. hope that helps some coming from someone that doesnt know all that much..

Yep that's what i was thinking. So basically, the stroker kit will make us more torque and HP at the low end, with the same amount of boost? Lets say i am running a Stage 2, 9 psi on stock motor. Lets say i am making 220 HP. Now i add the stroker kit, and i will now be making more low end power, and more total HP, at the same 9 psi? Does this sound right then?? Our stock compression is 10.3?

dont' do high compression with boost.. very bad idea... not only cause of detonation.. but because you will get such a powerful explosion you'll be blowing rods left and right..

With a higher compression ratio the turbo will spool faster but you will not be able to really crank up the boost like you can with a lower compression. The 12.5 compression is for all motor only, possibly could be used with nitrous if tuned correctly. The 8.6 is designed for turbo so you can really crank up the boost for power. The 10.5 would be a good amount of power for someone no looking to go all out but just wanting some more power, esp A/T. The 10.5 compression can be used with turbo, both Stan and Kiku have or are still doing it.

That is what we do on the regular 12.5 engines. We run a Crane HI-6 DI^2 with a timing retard module. WE pull a few dregrees of timing out when street driving with 93 octane, and put good fuel in at the track, and put the timing back in.
