#104489, "Do I really need to change valve seal ?"

Ive just complete the rebuilt of my block and now Im in the head... the reason for the rebuilt its just to take 10psi-15psi of boost someday. Now im at 8psi. Motor was fine before its just to be safe. The problem is that im low on money now and I have the top end gasket that come with new valve seal... head has 90 000miles. I was wondering if I really need to change the seals ? cause if I need ill buy some crane valve spring at the same time but its another 100$

Or if I really dont need better spring for 15psi of boost I can use stroker ?

I would just to be safe. Not sure if you def. have to though. i think i read somewhere that you have to get a new one if you rebuild for it to seal right but don't qoute me on that.

Mine pops and snorts like a group 5 car, not to mention the trace smell of oil after a high rev. This is on a 170K Neon.

Right, and for the springs ? I read that stock one push around 40lbs to close the valve so with 15lbs boost ... 25lbs left to close them . Im auto so rev limit is around 6500rpm.
