Ok guys I got a great idea but need help!!!
I ran across some sites posted by companys that may be able to make a catalytic like tube that can clean the air when our cars have the compression bumped up with High Compression Pistons and mabey mild cams?
See what I plan to do is order this part custom made to reduce what my stock or free flow cat can't reduce.
I know that NOx is one and I found a company that will do that and mabey even more reduction levels are possible but I need to know what might else in terms of smog levels give me problems so I can see if their product will cover that too, anybody know for sure???
You guys that live in other states that smog your cars are welcome to chime in on this too.
See since I cannot add a turbo and be street legal I'm gonna go the N/A mild street legal mod route with 200 hp to the crank being my goal and well there has to be more than one way to skin a cat and I think I got a good knife this time!!!

it looks professional, but it would probably be expensive, what size piping are you planing to use with this set up? I know that cams can hurt emissions as well, you could just contact the company and let them know what you want to do and they might have something for you

I called em and I'm sticking with factory 2.25 so I don't lose bottom end and just so you guys know he told me to use an Audi Cat because they have a lot more metal inside to do a much better job of cleaning or I could try a stock GS-T Cat because those Cats hafta compensate for boost so it too has extra metal.
The guy said he could have built me one but I woulda needed a lot of dyno/smog output data and a lot of retesting and he advised that it would cost a lot in the end not worth it.
I asked my muffler shop guy to weld me a stock Audi cat and he said 4 cylinder or 6 so now I gotta figure out which is best, the four would clean better but the 6 would freeflow better.

well thats good they were honest with you, those audi cats I think were designed to work with another cat that was in the exhaust manifold(s) The gst Cat was the same as our stockers I think? I really hope this works out for ya, you might want to get a 2.5 in cat back, you wont lose any power in the bottom end. Its great there is someone out there that is trying to make power and still keep it clean for the world, im not a hippie or anything close to it, but your doing something good, let me know how this all works out for you, im in the process of buying a cat for my rebuild my old one was from a company called Random Technology and it wasn't one of those resonator type cats, it actually cleaned something up, it made power. For the most part you're screwed dude. In CA you can't change the Cat with anything aftermarket unless it's got a CARB number (not for our cars) or OE replacement (OE for a RS/GS, not a Maseratti). So if you've got a "Free-flow" cat that has a CARB number and it's not passing emissions, then you're in the clear with the cops but not EPA and you'd need something to clean it up more. If that's the case, you save money and effort by buying a stock cat and swapping it in when you smog, then you're passing and you don't have the headache of researching this company.
Now, on the same token, anything done to the exhaust system AFTER the cat is perfectly legal and they can't say shit unless it exceeds dB levels, so if this thing feels better to you than swapping cats for smogs, my blessings go with you.
