You could, might have a problem with tensioning it though. Not sure on belt size, measure it, and go to Napa, and let them know how long you need.

yea thats what i was was thinking

i may just bolt the compressor on and use a string to wrap around the pulleys and get a belt that size, and just fight the belt on there......

i dont know what else to do, i might just put power steering back on, has anyone else ran a/c and no p/s

hey man I know you are getting all your AC stuff from me....I can hook you up with some of the PS stuff as well if you need it I also have an idea on how you could tension the compressor without the use of the tensioner pulley

you might be able to get those hoses pretty cheap, I don't know if they are just standard hoses, or if there is something in there, you still run a regular power steering rack?

You should be okay to run the AC with a custom belt. Not custom made, but just picked out custom from the rack. I'm thinking you can use a pry bar to apply tension to the belt via the AC compressor, then lock it down tight.

Definitely keep an eye out for the PS lines and hoses, though, as it really makes a difference in parking. Variable with engine speed, you know. It's practically non-existent on the highway.

Pretty much what I was thinking. I wasn't sure, so I didn't suggest it.

isn't the ac compressor just bolted straight to the block via a bracket? no adjustment? I'd think you'd have to shim it to get it to hold tension
