When i start my car in the morning, the break light always comes on...i have an auto so i never pull up the ebrake, and it is completely down when the light comes on. Its starting to get a little colder here, so is the line sticking to something or what? any ideas? thanks

I remember taht happening to me a while back. I changed my rear brakes and it stopped. Its kinda like mitsu's way of telling you, you need to change your rear brakes where the parking brake is.. =)

Check your brake fluid as it could be low. If that doesn't work, check your brake pads and/or brake shoes (if you are a RS).

I agree with Karl (again). I had the same problem. Brake fluid was low. Added a bit, and it went away.

Speaking of brakes...Mine are horrible. My back pads are completely worn. I have to change them soon. It isnt very smart to drive with bad brake. It could be very dangerous.

no way thats not right....worn brake pads would never make the light come on.....3 reasons only, one you have low brake fluid, two you have your ebrake on/abs problem, or three you have a short in the wire...thats it...but if you have an abs problem, both or only the abs light will show....

Two thing make your light come on, one your brake fluid is low or two that foam block inside your brake fluid reservoir is stuck. Next time your light comes on and your fluid is good just open the reservoir and move the foam block with your finger. There is a Switch on the bottom of the reservoir. It mostly happens during the winter times.

I think it has something to do with the pressure in the lines once your breaks are really worn down. cus the light will only turn on when you depress the pedal. that is what happened to me and my pads were pretty much down to the metal. changed them and no more light.

one reason why worn brakes will make your brake light come on. as brake pad wears down cyldiner (disc brakes) needs to be pushed out more. uses more fluid to push out piston, lower fluid level. change your pads or drums first than add more fluid.

thanks beefgg for the sig

Same here, its getting slightly colder over here in fl and was nippy yesterday and my ebrake light was coming on. Actually, whenever it isnt on and I hit a hard bump (coilovers) i would see the brake light quickly come on and off. The lately, it has been on for 10-15 minutes and then turns off.

I added more brake fluid (for the second time in 3 months) and i havent seen it since.
