quick simple question for you all.

will the stock ECU be able to keep the engine running with such a large cam? I should be ok as long i drill and tap the throttle body to put in an adjustable throttle stop to keep the plate slightly open or will the IAC be able to idle up the car enough to keep it running.

thanks,
Bryan

I have Crower 2's. My ECU learned the Idle in about 5-10 minutes but I did have to pop the cap off the Idle set screw and adjust it some to keep it running until it did. If you look at the TB where the stopper plate rests when closed, you will see that it is resting on the end of a set screw. Just go to the other side of the housing and pop the cap out of there and use a t20 to adjust it.

thanks, just what i wanted to know. I currently have my car wired for MS1 with the 2.2pcb but i am upgrading to the 3.0pcb and during the transitional stages i wanted to make sure my car would still be drivable on the stock ECU. I remember people talking about the set screw but i do not think my throttle body has one, looks like its a solid plug on mine but i will have to give it a better look, if not ill drill it out and tap it to make an idle set screw.

I wonder if a vacuum reservoir would help in situations such as this. I know on the highly modded 50cc pocket bikes we'd have to do this or it wouldn't idle, but it was carb'd.
