ok here's the story. running 6psi of boost 12:1 fmu, walbro, smic. my car is a 95. blew the headgasket, took the motor apart. the cylinder 1 was blown and 2 was paritally blown. coolant seeping into them, oil blowing out of the back of the cylinder. I can take apart the motor. but i have no knowledge of how the valves should look. so heres what i got. the exhaust valves are on the top. 3 and 4 exhaust valves are white-ish in the centers. All the plugs look good besides i think rich (black as u can see) what does the white coloring mean, is this normal or bad. the light scratches in the white are from a screwdriver, just incase anyone is wondering.
another note the oil in number 3 is because i turned the head sideways and the exhaust vavle is partially open, so oil from the head leaked through. thanks alot guys.
other than that mls headgasket and arp studs on the way. I heard 95's have a problem that the head bolts are not drilled/tapped deep enough, causing the headgaskets to blow with the stock t-t-y bolts. is this true?

As far as the coloring...probably because of the coolant/oil mix in the combustion chamber.
As for the stock head bolts...supposedly one of the holes in the block isnt quite deep enough, so the bolt doesnt tighten down completely. Whether this is true or not I dont know(I have never had this problem), but you dont need to worry about it with head studs anyway.

The white-ish coloring on the valves is probably coolant. Oil usually just leaves everything black.
Like stated above, the ARP head studs should solve any problems with holding the head down snug and preventing other HG's from blowing.
Looking at the condition of your head and depending on the milage you have on it, it may be a good time to take it to a machine shop and have a valve job done and get the head all cleaned up. Probably save you money in the long run.

Exhaust valves *should* be white. Black is indictive of burning oil and / or a bad valve seat seal.
