I have a problem with my eclipse. When I start the car, it sits at 2000rpm and slowly creeps up to 3000rpm while the trottle body stays shut. If anybody knows the answer it would be great!!!

Think for a moment about what is happening.

If the engine is racing up to 3000 RPM with the throttle body plate closed then how is all that air getting into the engine to allow it to run that fast?

Check for vacuum leaks in and around the intake manifold. Idle air control motor, cracked hoses, bad gaskets etc.

That's a good start.
