#102251, "HELP!! LEAKING SHIT LOAD OF OIL!!!"

Sorry this is so long but i need HELP! I have a 1999 GS and lately its been leaking a shit load of oil and getting worse. At the begginning of the year in january it started leaking oil so i took it in under warrenty so the dealership could fix it. When i got the car back they said the head gasket was leaking and the oil pan is leaking and there was oil leaking form the valve cover. So they put on a new gasket package and replaced the cover and the seals checked for leaks. then they did a 27 point inspection and found the crank seal leaking oil and the water pump leaking and replaced that. and then it was fine. then at the begginning of march 2 months later the car started to leak oil again and then it started to puff smoke from the undercarriege at idle usully sitting at stop lights, prolly from the oil leaking on the exhaust or anything else. so still under warrenty took it back in and they replaced the valve stems and valve cover gasket agin. it stopped for about a month then started back up again but i couldnt take it in because my warrenty expired. i figured since it was the same thing they must not be doing something right. so i secided i could suck it up and let a little oil leak not piss me off. now 9 months later its still puffing smoke and the leaking is getting worse now it leaks about 1/2 a quart of oil a day!! Anyone know what the hell is wrong?

OK first off NO more caps. Keep typing in caps and i will start locking your threads and you wont get any help. Typing in caps indicates your yelling and we wont tolerate it.

The only way to find the oil leak is to clean the engine and start the car up and look for leaks. We are not psychic, some of us may be psycho but not psychic and we cannot tell where the oil is leaking until you clean it and explain where the oil appears to be comming from.

Terry

The caps are indacating my frustration. Its 900+ in labor to have the valve stem and valve cover replaced. I dont have that kind of money and obviously what the dealer is doing isnt working so paying that kind of money is where my frustration lies. but figured in the title was no problem, but thats cool i have no problem against it. im not saying any of you are psychic i am asking for help to see if anyone has had a simmilar problem with all the oil leaking. I was emplying that the dealer was wrong and someone might have a better clue to what they were actaully trying to fix perhaps a headstud upgrade would work? Im open to any suggestions and i will clean my engine and try to see where the oil is coming. let me ask this. If the valve stems and the valve cover gaskets have to keep getting replaced what could this mean? is there to much pressure in the engine?idk any suggestions?

valve stem seals wont cause you to leak a lot of oil outside the engine. They will result in smoke out your tailpipe.

Now the valve cover leaking again might indicate the rubber bushings werent replaced. The bushings are the rubber gromments the valve cover bolts go through and tighten down on. When the bushings get old they shrink causing the valve cover to not be properly tightened down.

Any number of rerasons or possible causing could be the cause. Until we know where it leaks from we cant begine guessing why.

Terry

Here's something to work with;

1. Worst case guess; blow by of the rings is putting compression in your crankcase and blowing out seals.

2. Best case guess; the little rubber 1/2 moon needs to be replaced.

Quite a gap in between
