I have. Turbo 5th gen EX coupe with a B16. Had to drill out two bolt holes because they were slightly off and the first one didn't even have a flat head-to-manifold flange. And trust me, their customer service was no picnic. First and last time I will ever deal with an OBX product. Your talking about a piece of shit honda civic. There is your first mistake, a true piece of fucking junk right from the Manufacturer. Big words coming from the guy that looks like a high school girl's purse vomited on his car. Fuck you. I'm talking about about the piece of shit OBX manifold that didn't fit, was sent back and got ANOTHER one that still didn't fit right. Tell me how that has anything to do with a Honda, cock socket. The only reason I mentioned it in the first place was for clarity, not for you to bash on something you know zilch about. Put your big girl panties on and fab us up some forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=7&topic_id=72657&mesg_id=72657&listing_type=search.
Hahahaha your funny. I knew that was coming. Take your panties out of a bunch kid. Its not my fault you drive/drove a Honda. My apologies Sir. Trust me, I know plent about this product, since I use one, however it is not OBX, it is a Venom manifold, which in reality is the same thing.
Originally posted by ez No I have not used one. That does not discredit my stance though. I don't need to jump head first into a wall to know that it will hurt. I have heard from countless people how effective certain bolt ons are, how much of a headache they are, etc... Before I do anything to my car, I am going to search out other peoples experience with those modifications. I do not need to reinvent the wheel. It's not as if we've done strict scientific studies on each modification. That would be the only way to prove the effectiveness of each mod. Practically speaking, however, the personal experiences of a good number of people on this board reveals that this intake manifold is simply not worth the cash for a NT setup. We've said the same thing a million times for the new guys asking "should I buy a header?" The answer is: NO. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Like I said before, I am not disagreeing with you. All I am saying is you cannot purchase parts or talk yourself out from purchasing parts from he said she said bullshit. Alot of people talk down on it mostly because its big, huge, and chrome and 'supposevely' does not give you any gains. No one has posted if it has or not, so no one really knows if it does. "We've said the same thing a million times for the new asking 'should I buy a header'? The answer is: NO, SAVE YOUR MONEY." My only problem with this is, have you noticed who the people are that reply saying this? It is all 'usually' turbo guys. Of coarse we all know that spending your money trying to build NA is usually worthless and you SHOULD put your money to a turbo kit. But in all reality we know that staying NA is less cost worthy and less maintenance usually then being turbo'd. Being turbo'd you put alot of other issues into play. What if a guy DOES NOT want to go turbo, what if he just wants a better sound from his engine, should he stay with a stock exhaust? The answer is no.
The problem I forsee with a lot of replies here with people asking questions like, should I use this or that, should I buy this or not, usually outcome with the answer being No. In reality, people have different opinions on different products which is great, the only real problem is that you cannot say if a product is good or bad just because someone else likes it or doesnt like it. A lot of people like dont like widebodie's or blue paint like slowmitsu does, and look what he does, he says my car is a high school girls purse puking or something really retarded like that. Problem is, he can talk all about the past and what my car look likes, but his real problem is, his car will never equal out to mine with or with a OBX manifold on his Honda. I am really not an asshole, but when someone steps in replying about reuslts on a COMPLETELY different car, who really gives a flying fuck. Should I turbo my 420a? No I dont think you should because I only got 20 horsepower from turbo'ing my Integra. Oh, well that means I better not turbo my engine then because since the Integra only got that much, I will too...WRONG. Dont bring different engines and whatever else into play here. This is www.2gnt.com not www.hondaforums.com or whatever.
Anyway, all I said was that people should not talk about products effectiveness from he say she say hear-abouts. You cannot take someone's word for a product that they used and simply didnt like. EVER single motor is different. Dont care what anyone says, not one motor from one single guy/girl on this board is the same, even if its completely bone stock, something seperates them from being the same.
END OF RANT. Call me a jerk, call me a dick head, tell me im stupid, my car is ugly, I dont care.
I like my Venom Intake manifold, and I will tell the original poster, that just because I like it, doesnt mean to buy it. All I will say is that I personally like it. Are you asking me if its worth the money? I seriously dont think so, I think you COULD put your money towards something else to get, but then again, I dont know what you are trying to accomplish.
Merry Christmas all, and be easy on yourselves.
EDIT: Just because I am nosey, slowmitsu, would you mind posting pics of your car in the int/ext forum?-MIKE-
