The last few days my battery light has been coming on every once in awhile..then i'd start it again and it would be off...

I checked today and I have a CEL for it (either 21 or 41 lol i forget)...but it said something about the harness for it

Is there a harness for the alternator that maybe just came loose?..or is it def. the fact that the alternator's dead and I have shitty luck? lol

my light was coming on and off before and i realized that the clip from the harness that connects to the alternator was broken so it would slide off under load .... so i stuck a small piece of paper between the clip and the part it clips to in the alternator and havent had the problem since emoji

hopefully that harness is just a little screwed up then..I got the alt. checked at autozone like a month ago and it was fine

I'll hafta check the car one of these days and check it out....is the harness right on top of the alternator and towards the front bumper if you're looking down at it from the front of the car?

by the way..it comes on all the time, not just under heavy load. Actually today I tried to just start the car and immediately drive (it was already warmed dont worry)...and the light didnt come on

it comes on after about 8 seconds of idle'ing

i think my harness is loose, just put in a new battery and alternator and my battery light is on and the cars running off that. Either lose harness are a back ground

Jack the car up, setup some jackstands, get under the car and check the harness running to the alternator. Make sure the plug is not lose and the other wire is properly bolted down next to the plug. If its corroded clean it up a little bit with a wirebrush.

I'd also check the tension of the belt, just to make sure it's not slipping on the pulley.
