Okay guys, I just finished with my rebuild and also added full exhaust system, UDP, CAI, with new cam, crank and IAC sensors. This is on a 95 non-turbo. The problem is a rough idle that comes up and down. If you drive the car and keep it above like 1500 rpms it drives sweet. When you come to a stop it is really rough and might stall. I have already checked the Timing, plugs, wires, and the coil. I am going to try a vacuum test tommorow and need to know where to test from(pcv port,the plugged fitting on the manifold or somewhere else). Also would a injector going bad cause these symptoms? I checked the plugs and they all looked good after about a 20 mile ride.

My car had similar symtoms when my egr valve malfunctioned. Just a thought

Well I just did vacuum test and got between 8-10 at idle and the needle was bouncing around. After you give it some gas the needle becomes steady and pulls a lot more vacuum. I looked in my book and it said that symptom was caused by either leaking valve stem guides or intake leak. I don't think the guides are leaking because it did not do this before rebuild and my machine shop checked out the head. They did the machining and I did the assembly and the guides were not loose at all. Are there any known problem spots on the stock intake or could a leaking injector o-ring cause this? Also my egr valve was just replaced before rebuild.

Okay guys I can't find and leaks and I found that if I unplug IAC nothing happens. Is that normal? I need to know how to test the IAC and harness because Chiltons does not tell me anything on it. Also I just bought the IAC and wondered if anyone has ever gotten a new one that was bad. Finally I redid vacuum test by unplugging egr from the nipple on the manifold and connecting my gauge there and got a steady 13 from it. Is this about right?
