#100982, "engine won't start"

Ok, I know I could search for this but don't really have the time too. I'm about to buy a 97 Talon ESI for cheap, but it won't start, changed the battery so it's not that. What are the other possiblities that the problem could be, other than the obvious starter, coil problems. Any help will be great.

it could be no spark, no fuel or no air getting into the engine. You need all three to fire. Since you dont have time to search I dont have time to elaborate.

You've gotta give some more input. Does it turn over at all? Does it seem to attempt to start, any sputtering? If it does turn over does it sound like its at least making some compression or does it turn over very freely?

i am kinda haveing the same problem... i have a 97 eclipse rs... i am not trying to supe it up or anything just trying to get it in ok condition... it was running but was making a tapping noise... come to figure it was a sticking valve.. bought some of the stuff that cleans it out and stuff... well i did that... it slowed the ticking/tapping down alot... then i changed the oil and oil filter.. started it up the ticking and tapping was there.. but not as bad as it was.. so i took it around the block... then when i got to my driveway it died.. now it wont even start.. i push in the clutch and turn the key and all i hear is a single click sound.. then nothing... what could this mean? any help will help me out alot... thanks...
