Okay, I know you need to have your car serviced after 60, or 65K miles, I dunno. What exactly are these again? I tried looking thru the archives, but my connection is kinda slow. I know u need to change the timing belt, what else? The water pump, I dunno, I remembered something about that. I got the car with 64K miles on it from a Toyota dealer. Don't know if they did that service thingie. I already have 77+K miles on it right now. Don't want to get stuck on the road with a broken car. I also plan on buying the UDP and having mitsu put them on for me. Which site has them again for cheap? (I know, redundant already, sorry) And would the belts that come with the UDP squeak or would I need to buy other belts? How do I avoid this? Tightening? Thanks for the info...

ptuning.com is where i bought my afx udp.... use the link from 2gnt on the main page and save 5% too.. I think shipping is free until xmas too.
I looked the the service manual real quick, and from what i see... the things at 60k should be air filter, spark plugs, ignition cables, timing belts, break pads, and check all your fluids.
I'm just guessing though.. cuz i'm still waiting to hit 60k.
my tag along question is... does the dealership do a 60k service for you and how much do they (over)charge? Anyone who's done one at the dealership know?

Yeah, I'm also curious how much Mitsu would charge you for a 60K mile service. Well, I've already searched the archives. Michael_97RS was gonna do a write up on this maintenance thing on the main page. Haven't checked it yet though. Will do right now. Any other info peeps? TIA

Damn! Thats hella cheap for all dat at Satan. They told me 400 bucks, and thats only the timing belt. You want to do the tensioner pulley, the timing belt idler pulley, waterpump, and camshaft oil seals. Some say the actual tensioner itself too, but thats up to you. Yep, its a great time to do the UDP also, worth about 8-10 HP. The UDP should come with the proper size belts arlready, and if they are properly tightned, they shouldn't squeak. For all of this a the Mitsu dealership, prop at leat a grand for all parts and labor, my guess anyway. I just said F-it, i'm doing it myself!

What the... a grand just for that??? Well, I haven't asked the nearby Mitsu for a quote yet. Might as well ask the guys who are gonna do it then. Its just a mile from where I am. I'm just hoping its not that much. I was thinking maybe it would be my Christmas gift from my parents this year, hehehe...O well, lesse what happens...

Ok, so Mitsu quoted me 660 for the 60K mile service. They said they wouldn't charge me labor if I asked them to put in the UDP. Not sure. Anyone know of some shops in SoCal that do it cheaper then? TIA

Browning Mitsu in Cerritos wanted close to $900 to do the service and timing belt. They said that if I had them do it, if I ever blew my motor or tranny, "Mitsu would help you out" on the cost of a new motor!? I dunno bout that.

That's steep for the 60K mile service. Might as well go a few miles over here at Costa Mesa Mitsu. And I haven't heard any horror stories from this dealer yet. Also had my recall done here, and I was pretty pleased with how they handled my car. Washed, shined and cleaned my car. Nice...
