This is more of an annoyance than anything else. it fluctuates 2-300 rpm's when im sitting still...but it doesnt do it all the time, it sorda picks and chooses its times! ive changed the plugs,so what else can i do to remedy it? ive heard of changing out the TPS, but i would assume thats kinda expensive and im not gonna drop a lot of cash on this. let me have any of ur ideas...thanks!

I think EVERY engine does that!?! But it shouldn't be that bad. Is it doing anything else besides fluctuating 2-300rpms?? Does your car shake a lot?? Could it be your motor mount?? It shouldn't be that bad.

nothing wrong with it doing that! its totally normal! well from what ive heard, anyway my car does it too, freaked me out when i first got it... our cars are smart. (i have an auto) when your engine is cold it will rev the rpms up higher b4 shifting to get the engine warmed up! but when at a stoplight and your rpms go up it could be just trying to get the engine temp up, but thats just what i think.....

Mine does it too but only when its cold. When not cold, it sits at 900 and fluctuates less then 100. Not sure..

This is what I 've noticed..

When the engine is cold, idle stays higher than usual. but normal it should be around 900 or so and really shouldn't be bouncing up and down wildly..

mine moves around from 900 to 700 at stop lights, but not in the winter and not all the time.
