To those of you that did the 2.4, did you all use the mechanical tensioner?

While reading the neon forums I see them talking alot about failures. Some have to do with the bolt being 8mm and grade 9. Their fix? go 10mm and grade 10.

Also there is talk about an upgraded "double bearing" part being out.

Any thoughts, info or insight?

I run the stock SRT4 tensioner. Hasn't failed yet AFAIK. Keep in mind a lot of the Neon guys run ridiculous cams, do - Crane 22's and higher. That's a lot of tensioner stess.

true, this is mostly from the 18 and larger cams. Just food for thought I guess.
