#1514, "Chicago Caravan Meeting place + Michigan Caravan meeting place"

Since I don't think that we've decided where we are going to be meeting up with all the people starting the Friday caravan in Chicago, let's figure it out now. We are going to have a TON more this year than last so that gas station/McDonald's parking lot isn't going to cut it.

Also, we will need to decided where we will be meeting up with the Michigan caravan as well. I think the same restaurant parking lot in Teledo will work fine as last year.

Let's get this figured out ... local Chicago guys help find a big spot for us to meet at. Walmart, Target, big store parking lot. There will be probably 10-15 cars plus Bill's truck with the RS on a trailer.

The Springfield guys will be coming up 55. So we'll take that to 294 over to 80. So somewhere in the 355-55 to 55-294 split will probably be the best place to try and meet up.

There are some rest stops on 294, but a lot of them were under construction last time I went that way.

If I can get out that way I'll see if anything close is open.

Anybody else with suggestions, please shoot em out.

Well i too think there may be a lot more cars this year, and that restaurant in Toledo was good, but it may not be optimal this year. But, at that same exit, same road, same direction off the exit, is a shopping center parking lot...Will hold every car we can put there emoji There's food and gas all right there, and its right off of the Ohio Turnpike 80/90, which we take straight to Norwalk. If the chi-town guys plan on leaving late friday morning, then i'd say around 3 pm (eastern time) meeting in Toledo will be pretty darn close, esp since you guys gain one hour going through Indiana. I can get exact directions to this parking lot, its right off the Ohio 80/90 in Toledo. I think us MI guys will leave here from Grand Rapids around noontime Friday. Sound like a plan?

i am pretty sure that i am staying at aaron's house(totaleclipse) on thursday night. i think our plan was to sit on the side of the 80/90 and wait for a bunch of eclipses to drive by and then play catch up. emoji

I'll try to take a ride before weeks end (excuse to break in the clutch) and travel those sections of highway and find a good place. I have an idea or two, I'll see what I come up with.

Ok, for the guys coming in from the west, the MI crew will meet up with you guys at this department store parking lot, right off the 80/90. Its been a while, but not sure exactly what store is at this location now,but there is a Red Roof Inn right there also, pretty much next to this place. Its like a small strip mall/shopping center really. You can see the Red Roof Inn getting off the exit also. Off the 80/90 you go this way:

Take Exit # 59/4 REYNOLDS RD/US 20 SOUTH towards I-475/I75/US 23. Just be sure to go SOUTH on Reynolds Rd off of the 80/90. The red roof inn will be on your left as you get on Reynolds Rd. Go up to DUSSEL Rd, and turn left, and you can all turn in left into that strip shopping center parking lot. Does 3 PM sound good to you guys? Remember, eastern time emoji We will try and be there before you guys too. Jason, or Michael, or whoever, i need cell numbers from ya, and i'll give you mine to keep in touch again this year. If you want mapquest directions, just use the Red Roof Inn address:

1570 Reynolds Rd, Maumee, OH 43517
