#8132, "VSS P/N clarification needed"

According to CAPS, our VSS is PN M04671044 from http://www.2gnt.com/CAPS/main22/main22sub110page3.html.

However, upon having several different VSS's compared side by side, the 3.94 VSS's are PN 05269731 (etched on the top, which differs from CAPS)

The 3.55 VSS's I have are PN 04707839AA. A quick search on the PDF http://starparts.chrysler.com/starlibrary/marketing/electrical.pdf reveal that 04707839AA is used for the vehicles that used for that trans/ecu. (also etched on the top)

Two questions arise from this.

1. Where can I find ANY of these PN's so I can buy one, as a search at chryslerpartsdirect provides no result.
2. Has 05269731 been superseded with M04671044?

Sorry for being so specific on my questions but this might be some info to possibly update on the wiki or on http://www.2gnt.com/?d=LSD_and_Diff_related_parts

If you have a round pin VSS then the part number wont match anymore. The P/N in Caps is most likely the new Flat pin sensor since that is what is now sold in the stores (dealers).

Mike,

I checked on 4671044 and it currently supersedes to 5015380AA, available at a discount parts vendor for $77.00.

5269731 has no superseding part and is also available for $72.94.

4707839AA from what I can tell is used in 2000 and newer Mopar vehicles equipped with 2.4s and 2.7s, available for $34.75.

you are the fuckn MANN dave. Thank you. When you searched, 4671044, which is now 5015380AA, is $77, and 5269731 is $72, both apparently are 3.94 VSS's?

According to chryslerpartsdirect.com, do these two PN's show the same, or different sensors? They show different prices, and a different description. I hate to be such a fuckn pain, I just wanna purchase the right one.

5015380AA - online all I can see that it is specified in the catalog for 1995 through 1999 coupes. Pretty vague, I know. I cannot safely assume what transmission ratio it was meant for.

5269731 - SENSOR VEHICLE SPEED. Again not helpful but if you plugged those in at a Mopar parts counter they might be able to help you further.

It is all good man.
