#7578, "Where should I buy my clutch?"

Those who have replaced their clutch, Where did you buy it from and was shipping/customer service good?

I am getting ready to trade my car to my cousin for his 99GSX. I need to replace my clutch before i can make the deal. I'm not turbo, but he plans on boosting after we make the trade. Should i go with an OEM or go with Spec stage 2-3/ clutchmasters etc.. ? What do you guys think. Give me a reliable place to buy without breaking the bank.

Personally, I think that if he plans on boosting he should pay for the clutch... but that is me.

Will this new clutch get you extra money in the deal? If so... sure, why not.

Or... say "I'll pay for what I would have gotten (stock), and you make up the difference"

Oh yeah, I have to call you a bastard for getting a 99 GSX... Just because I want one... bastard. emoji It's all in good jest.

I believe, as of late, that it seems like everyone is going to South ?Bend Clutch for their clutches. Their website is http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/ I have heard nothing but good things from them.

This is about as cheap as it gets. If you want to pay more for a performance clutch, there are numerous vendors/applications to choose from.

Alright, Thanks for the input guys. Yes, you have read correctly. Trading my car for his 99GSX. He is sick of it and has loved my car for a long time. He doesnt want to be tempted to race. He only wants a show car that is ALREADY done. Plus i will be throwing in some extras. Call me lucky. And i dont want to give him a car that has a bad clutch. Not to mention my car has a brand new engine. So im taking a risk on how long that 4G63 will last. But im definitley willing to take that risk. I know you guys would be too. I'll have to check out southbend then.

I'd never buy a 7-bolt 4g63. Crankwalk lingers, and from then on it's a headache of 6bolt or bust. imo.
