I am dropping the tranny on my old 2.0L motor but the fucking tranny mount on the driver side will not pull out. All nuts are off and mount is loose, but it is hitting the shift lever on trans. Does anyone have any tricks to wiggeling this son of a bitch off and out? I need to put a prothane in my new mount I have for it.

it took me a while to figure this out too..
first thing you need to do is drop out the axles, your going to be awkwardly positioning the transmission and you don't want to hurt them. Now that you have your axles out you need to start to lower, or raise your transmission so you can get enough clearance for the mount to drop out, while you raise and lower the tranny have a buddy move around the mount and tell you weather the tranny needs to be raised and lowered, its kinda a bitch, but once you get it, you got it, hope i helped!

Its out and off. I just took off the plate that had the studs for the mount as well. Took the plate off the trans, slid that out and then the mount pulled right up and out...

it took me a day to figure out how to get that mount off, but i ended up jacking the oil pan side of the engine up reallys really high, with all but the rear mount off, and when doing that, it lowered the tranny side the more it went up, and thats how i got mine off, it wasnt fun believe me. then my the guy at my job broke the mount when he was pushing it out, had to get it welded... so be careful with that

Every time i get to that mount i want to shoot myself. I have pulled my engine 4 times in the last 8 months, and every time that mount gives me hell. Dosent matter if im putting it in or getting it out.
Is it easier to remove the entire rear stopper/mount before dropping the tranny or pulling the engine? I did once and stripped the female threads on the mount to tranny(rear) trying to get it back in. This last time I couldnt get the mount to drop out(upper tranny), and grinded the threads off of one of the bolts for the mount.
I'll have to try removing the plate under the mount sometime, and see how that works.
