Ok, im new to 2GNT but im not new to the NT eclipses... I have a 99 Gs fully built motor and turbo. Last summer i recently did a manual trans swap. Im runnin the stock nvt350 with a phantom grip and a Clutch Masters stage IV clutch. The trans lasted me about 2 months. Then locked up due to that roller bearing exploding that has the plastic carriage on it. I dont know a whole lot about transmissions. But if anyone on here has any ideas about a better trans, replacement bearing ideas, or anything in general that i can do to beef up this trans a little more to hold the power. Let me know Thanks.

These tranny's are stout little guys. I once ran a 14.3 quarter with a tranny that had 200k on it. Stock rebuild is all that's necessary.

Now you can beef up the diff if you'd like with an LSD. OBX or Quaife would be the way to go. OBX requires some modification and Quaife requires some money in the bank.

The PG really does pretty much nothing.

The stock diff is actually fine as it is, except that people like to do one legged burnouts and that tends to blow the diff up.

Yeah Im running low 13's on the setup it had last year but i mean my problem isnt within the diff at all. Its that bearing. I dont know if maybe im not being careful enough when i put the cases back together or what. If anyone knows a trick or something about the plastic carriage bearing let me know. Also i was still wondering if a neon tranny will bolt up. And if so which one is the best gear ratio etc.?

taller gears for higher top speed, it also helps with launches from what I hear due to the slightly reduced torque at the wheels

Wouldnt taller gears give worse quarter mile times?

Not necessarily.

Better traction=faster times.

If you're n/a, you'll be slower.

If you're turbo, go for it.
