Ok so I have a rebuilt 3.55 w/ a quaife lsd, not very many miles on it since it was rebuilt. The night I was parking my car for the winter This fall I stopped at the gas station my buddy works at to say hi, well I pull into the parking lot in first and I push the clutch in and stop and go to back into a spot. I put it in reverse and let the clutch out and it doesn't make a sound or move at all. The next day I trailer it back to my house and check it out as much as I can w/o dropping the tranny. It goes into all the gears smooth and when I let out the clutch the rpm's drop a little so its engaging. The car rolls while in gear so I'm assuming that maybe the output shaft broke? what do you guys think? I moved and am going to school right now so the car is stored at my mom's house so I haven't had a chance to drop the tranny and check her out.

check for broken axle or axles first. If a shaft in the trans snapped, you would have some ungodly aweful noise when you engaged the clutch

I hope an axle didn't break, they are DSS stage 2's but I will definitely check!

Well i was able to drop the tranny this weekend and see what went out on me, the axles are perfect and the clutch is good. I stuck my finger in the holes for the axles and feel all kinds of metal shavings in the diff, this is not good! So I destroyed my quaife lsd, does anyone have any experiance with the warranty through quaife? I know it has a limit ed lifetime warranty.

Well that's good news (though hard to do. Are you sure it's the Quaife?). Quaife backs up their LSD's 100%. I know of two that went down and they were replaced without a question. The general concensus is that you can go right ahead and beat the crap out of your Quaife, because if anything goes wrong, they will replace it.

Now, with the disclaimer of you need to have oil in there etc., lol

Yepp I am absolutely positive its a quaife, baxsom bought it from horsepowerfreaks.com after trying to install an obx with no luck. I emailed quaife today, I haven't heard back but I will keep you posted.
