yup, yup, and yup. also I've had nasty vibration under acceleration as well
Edit: good way to save the rubber boots. spray them with silicon spray lube every time you're up under the car for an oil change. 160k+ and still running on original factory installed units.

I have 165,000 on my stock axles and never sprayed them with anything. No signs of cracks or anything. Leave them alone. Axles just wear, some fast some slow.
