Ok, just wanna be sure I have this all down. Parts that need to be swapped:

Bellhousing
Shift / Selector Arms
Speedo gear and sensor
Diff / diff gear if you have a retrofit LSD like me.

Is that it? I just spent a bit digging through all the old posts but I want to double check. Also, this only tranny always had problems with the speedo. Any chance I can put the speedo gear off the neon diff onto the new diff with the LSD and use the neon sensor gear too? I'm just worried something is wrong with that speedo gear, it always comes off and chews shit up. I'll go double check part numbers to see if they are the same.

Anyways, Let me know if I'm missing anything. I'd love to get this thing back on the road and tuned to melt your faces at the shootout.

That's basically it, yeah. if you're continually having problems with the speedo gear, buy a new one. They were $12 the last time I had to order one, iirc. You don't want to reuse them after they've been removed.

Ah, ok. I'll just grab a new set of speedo gears to be sure.

Any trick to getting those pins out on the selector arms?

Hahah. Yeah. That's about how it went. I got 3 out of 4 out last night on the two trannys. After beating the piss out of the fourth, I tried drilling it. Then the rotozip came out, and it was all down hill from there. I dunno what im going to do, I really don't wanna press everything out of the case just to change the selector thing. Argh.

They're a bitch. Last time I had to do that, it took Greg and I several hours of beating, drilling cutting, and PB Blasting before we managed to get them all out. We also broke several punch tools.

Got it all buttoned up last night. Had to go grab some tranny fluid this morning so hopefully tonight I can take it for a spin. I'm really curious what the 3.55 is going to be like. I haven't driven this thing in about 1.5 years. Can't fucking wait.

Ok, I'm pretty sure the speedo is inaccurate. I have all the eclipse gearing in there, and that's probably the issue. Any tricks to fix that? I was all excited to have a working speedo finally, it's never really worked before.

The SOHC Neon speedo is double the DOHC 2GNT speedo.

If it works and you're not doing 160MPH down the freeway, yeah, it's accurate. That 3.55 makes a big fucking difference.
