#630, "manual tranny fluid change.....can i do it myself? Need quick replies" May-07-03 06:26 PM by eclipse_gs_1512
*Sorry, I would've searched but I'm in the middle of studying for a huge final that I have in the morning....I can't really spare the time to search through hundreds of posts. Again I'm really sorry if this has been posted before!!
Hey everybody, I'm supposed to have Satan change my oil and tranny fluid tomorrow. The tranny fluid thing is gonna be mad expensive if I let mitsu do it....is this something I can do with ease? If so, what besides replacement fluid will I need? Could somebody please let me know before 9:00am eastern time? Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it!!!

theres a drain bolt on the bottom of the tranny, you have to buy special tranny fluid from chrysler or mitsu, its either 2 or 3 bottles, can't remember. Remove your drivers side wheel and plastic engine side engine coveer (well maybe you won't have to do that). There is a plastic rubber plug that is used to refill.
the fluid is like 10-15 a bottle.

hey you know what, i find it much easier to fill the tranny through the reverse light switch hole. it is on top of the tranny, just remove it and you have a direct hole into the tranny. this way you don't have to deal with that pita filler hole on the side. you just have to make sure you put in the correct amount
