ok, so i was tryin to take out the speedo sensor, and as soon as it hit the gear, it stopped, so i pulled and wiggled, and the gear fell off, and its freakin stuck in there... i had the gear at the hole, with some pliers pulling up on it, but its as if the gear is bigger than the hole, then it fell back in the tranny and is stuck again... why does the simplest things turn into the biggest headaches...

The gear is the same size as the hole. You need to have it just right to slide out. Either way you MUST get that gear out. A MOD on here left it in once and little pieces fcked his trans.

i got it. it only took me 6 hours, and putting my hands through the worst pain ever by pushing against the tranny mount bracket, only to find out its not the speedo thats bad. i had my neighbor turn it by hand, and it moves, got it up to 25 with her hand. how much is a trannyshop gonna charge to fix something like that, since i have no experience with dropping a tranny at all. i figure i might as well get anything fixed in there while its apart anyways, since i get a lot of chatter in 1st gear

I need the same part. I thought that stuff only happened to me. I actually thought about taking my trans apart today b/c I need to fix it while I have the engine out. I will try to find the part #, and let you know if I do.
