Ok guys, I just finished installing the 3.55 trans and did everything per Terry's write-up. It went together perfectly. Start it up, went to go in reverse, and nothing...I cant put it into reverse unless I depress the clutch and my reverse lights are working, but its just as if I'm in neutral. I managed to push it outa the garage and drive it and all the other gears work perfect, I just cant go backwards. Any ideas? I hate that I'm going to have to pull this thing out again after just getting it back together...

You probably installed the reverse fork wrong.

I can't see that preventing reverse from engaging. it's been a while since i took one apart, though.

Got it back in and running, you were right Terry, the reverse pin was out, but I dont see how it could have slipped out because I had to loosen the two bolts that hold the fork in just to get enough room to push the pin in. Oh well, its all back in and running fine. Took it for a test drive and boy, I love cruisin in fifth at 70 at only 2400 rpm Thanks guys for your input!
