I sold my turbo 2gnt a while back to a friend of mine that now is saying he has a blown tranny. I'm not too machanically inclined but what do you guys think. All he is telling me is it won't get out of first and he has to get it towed. He said it's hard to explain but even if the car is off and he tries to put it into gear it pulls itself back to first gear. Any help would be appreciated, and I'll try and get him to reply on here with more detail as to what the problem is.

If you can but the car in neutral and the trans pops back into 1st gear then it sounds liek a cable problem. Maybe somethign wedged by the shift levers pushing them into gear.

hey im the kid with the problem. it wont get out of first gear even with the car off it stays in gear. i can move the shifter around but it feels like i have no bottom or top gears and swings itself back into first. i tried to get it into neutral but it wont do that either so i dont kno what to do.

Start looking into a problem with your clutch cables and shift levers as well as the shifter assy. This is posted above, did you bother to read the thread?

LOL. No. No he didn't.
I have a feeling he's going to come back and ask where the cables are, next.
